SOCIEUX (Social Protection EU Expertise in Development Cooperation)

SOCIEUX, the European Commission’s technical assistance facility for social protection in development cooperation, managed by GVG and its partners, provides the Centre for Research and Social Studies (CRES) in Tunesia with expertise and support towards the further development and improvement of its IT based decision support system (DSS) for social protection. A diagnosis of the current DSS has been carried out as well as an assessment of the technical capacities of the responsible CRES team for a start. SOCIEUX is a technical assistance facility established by the European Commission’s Directorate General for Development and Cooperation – EuropeAid – to support the efforts of partner countries to better design and manage social protection systems by means of short-term peer-to-peer inputs to be delivered by experts drawn primarily from the European Union Member States’ public administrations and mandated bodies.

A demand-driven programme, SOCIEUX has been receiving and implementing requests for assistance from countries of Africa, the Caribbean and Pacific region, Latin America, Asia, the Middle East and the European Neighbourhood area since beginning of 2014.
